Composite drainage board, also known as composite geonet, is composed of three-dimensional structure of plastic mesh double-sided bonded seepage geotextile, it can replace the traditional sand and gravel layer, mainly used in railway, highway, tunnel, municipal engineering, reservoir, slope protection and other drainage projects. The composite drainage board has the following features as good drainage, high tensile strength. It can reduce the probability of geotextiles embedded in the mesh core, maintain long-term stable drainage, and bear long-term high pressure load (can withstand compression load of about 3000Ka), etc.

The free water entering the pavement structure is an important reason to cause or accelerate the pavement damage. The hydrodynamic pressure generated by road water under the high-speed driving tire directly causes erosion to the internal mixture. The hydrodynamic pressure increases geometrically with the increase of the speed. Free water in or near the pavement shortens the life of the road. If the free water seeps through the road and penetrates the subgrade, no matter how thick the road is, the road will lose its supporting surface and fall apart.

The drainage system inside the pavement is set up to quickly discharge the moisture trapped in the pavement structure to the pavement and subgrade structure, improve the performance of the pavement and prolong its service life. A road with good drainage is designed to last two to three times longer than a road without drainage. The problem of road drainage can be solved by using geo-composite drainage network. In the road system, the direct and continuous laying of geo-composite drainage network can not only achieve good drainage effect, but also greatly reduce the thickness of the base or bottom base, improve the bearing capacity, and eliminate the uneven settlement.

The Bexi River Malaysia – Ulu Klang Expressway project is a viaduct project, starting from Sa ‘anan Avenue in the south of Bukit Jalil, with a single track length of about 15km. As an extension of the existing Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway, the project connects Bayi River, Jaulai, Bandan, Ampang and Ulu Klang directly to downtown Kuala Lumpur, further promoting the construction of an efficient transport circle in Kuala Lumpur and having a significant impact on the economy along the way.

However, because Malaysia is located near the equator, it has a tropical rainforest climate and a tropical monsoon climate, and there is no obvious division of the four seasons. The average temperature is between 26℃ and 30℃. There is plenty of rainfall throughout the year. The rainy season is from March to June and from October to the next February. Therefore, it has caused great obstacles in the construction of highway projects, and the requirements for highway construction are also very high, especially in the drainage aspect.

Contractor from Malaysia found composite drainage board project installation case from our website. He contacted BPM salesman, and we communicate their project, asked for the product specifications, the indicators, especially on the tensile strength of the product, hydraulic conductivity and the bearing capacity of index is very strict, required to provide samples, technical data, installation instructions, etc. A week later we sent our samples to a third party for testing. The results fully met the customer’s requirements and a month later we ordered our 30,000 square meter composite drainage board to complete the installation of the first phase of the road project.

The main function of composite drainage board.

  1. Drainage function: laid on the base, used to discharge the water between the filler and the base, block the capillary water and effectively combine into the edge drainage system. This kind of structure automatically shortens the drainage way of the base, and the drainage time is greatly shortened, which can prevent the liquefaction of the slope soil and enhance the stability of the slope.
  2. After composite drainage net and non-woven geotextiles are combined, under the buried closed overburden, rainwater that permeates the soil overburden or sewage discharged from the storage yard itself can be collected and orderly discharged from the interlayer of the geotechnical mat according to the engineering requirements by using its unique drainage function, without forming silting.
  3. Isolation effect: the geotextile of composite drainage net can effectively prevent the mixing of filler and base soil material
  4. Geotextile with filter function can prevent fine particles from entering the core gap, so as to ensure the long-term effectiveness of the core drainage capacity.
